Nantes Barnard is CTO and partner at 360 Smart Networks. He has overall responsibility for technical decisions regarding the 360 Smart Networks product suite as well as managing the account management team. This includes making sure that clients are kept up to date regarding their internal technologies as well as overall client satisfaction.
Nantes holds a degree in Civil Engineering as well as a CNE, MCSE and quite few Microsoft Certifications. He has over 30 years of experience in all things IT. Nantes joined 360 Smart Networks in 2004 after Marius Nel (CEO) offered him in Marius’s words “A percentage of not much, for less money than you’re earning now”
By following the company mantra of “Always do the right thing, regardless of cost or consequences” Nantes have been able to not only keep the 360-client base happy, but consistently provide the correct technical solutions required.
Nantes believes that keeping folks happy requires a very simple set of rules.
- Do what you said you were going to do, when you said you were going to do it.
- Do it with the utmost quality and leave no t’s uncrossed or I’s undotted.
- Admit your mistakes and never, ever try to pass blame.
- When in doubt about anything refer to “Always do the right thing, regardless of cost or consequences”
As far as technical solution go, Nantes follows the right tool for the job philosophy. “if you forget about margins and all things non functionality related, making technical decisions are easy. You figure out what is needed and that is it.”
Nantes lives in Cumming, Georgia with his wife and enjoys skiing, scuba diving and spending time with his son (who works for 360 Smart Networks as an engineer) and daughter.
