Allan Otto
Project Engineer
What do you do as a project engineer?
As a Project Engineer, I am responsible for implementing projects and following through to their completion. This means I become the primary contact for the client on the project. I handle any issues that pop up from it, the configuring, and the documenting. I make sure the client is happy, informed, and expectations are met through the whole process. Some of my projects include re-cabling/re-organizing server rooms to keep them clean and organized, building servers, implementing new wireless infrastructures, and configuring network equipment.
How long have you worked at 360?
4 years.
What is your favorite thing about working at 360 or working in IT?
I love IT because I have a thing for computers. I grew up with them because my dad was IT Director/CTO for companies throughout his career. I enjoy making a difference and an impact for clients when IT equipment is not working or out of date. At times, I compare myself to a heart surgeon because I have a passion to fix computers/servers or improve the network infrastructure with upgrades. IT equipment can go wrong at any time of day and we are the emergency crew to jump in. Either we put out the flames or be proactive to point out potential issues before they happen and make recommendations so fires can be prevented in the future.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Paintball, Disc Golf, and home improvement projects around the house.
What is your favorite movie?
